With a background in computer software and software engineering (University of Milan 1994), Alessandro was involved with the seminal Internet Backplane Protocol work taking place at the University of Tennessee.
Between the years of 2002 and 2004 he was a Visitor Researcher at the Ecole Normale Superieure (Lyon France) followed by work with Ripe NCC.
He then worked with Hitachi Europe for the years 2004-2010.
Alessandro’s interested are focused primarily on the integration of autonomic properties into ad-hoc networking architectures and RFID technologies.
He was the deputy project coordinator of the FP5 6QM project, and the project coordinator of the FP7 “Autonomic Internet” project.
Since 2010 he has worked as an Independent Consultant with a primary focus on technologies related to the “Internet of Things.”
